indoor fun

After swimming & cookies at my sister's, we headed over to Nana & Grandpa's house. Danielle pulled every single toy out that she could find and played with each one for 30 seconds at a time - except the race car which was good for about 10 minutes(!) at time. After taking her sweet time warming up to him, Danielle did not want to leave without saying goodbye to Baxter about 20 times with lots of puppy hugs! She had to settle for waving to Phoebe from a distance, lol.

hot, hot, hot

Temps have been in the mid to upper 90s all freaking weekend. I'm so not a fan of this weather. What happened to 75?!?!

Since it's hotter than the hell, we set up Danielle's pool in my sister's backyard today. She played for a bit, then kept climbing in & out of the pool and running around the yard & under the hose, then she decided to play water slide with the chair - a very fun game until her feet went out from under her and her head went completely under the water! It freaked her a little, lol. We dried off a couple minutes after that! Note Danielle's ghetto water toys - nothing but the finest ziploc containers for my kid!! Danielle left her ear plugs alone the whole time she was "swimming" and they didn't pop out once, so we've had some definite progress there!

Clowning Around

We went to Nicky's 1st birthday carnival party and made a very important discovery today. Danielle is not a fan of clowns, especially not 60 year old female clowns with puppets! Good to know before we get to Danielle's 2nd birthday, lol.

I think this party was a big social experiment to see how much sugar small kids could consume before they exploded into little bits of confetti. Between the cotton candy, lollipops, & cake these kids were almost literally bouncing off the walls.

Danielle loved her cousin's new "bike" but sadly she's too short to reach the pedals, I guess I really do have to wait until next year to get her one :( Luckily she was tall enough to play the ring toss and the bean bag throw games. This kid has quite the arm on her and sometimes her aim is crazy accurate. Future sports superstar? Who knows!

There were tons of Kodak moments, but I didn't get pics of ANY of them, bc the stupid battery died on the camera. Maybe someday Michelle will email me the pics and I'll share them with all of you - the 3 people that read this blog.

Sunny Days, Chasing the Clouds Away

Last Sunday morning I woke up with this whim to do something fun with Danielle, something a little more exciting than the park, lol. So I was inspired by this goofy song Jay was singing to D the day before to check out Sesame Place. After a little back & forth we decided to go and 2 hours later were finally on our way. It was a blast. D was still a bit young for a lot of it, but she loved the carousel, the parade, the mini bounce area, and the Elmo live show. She was a big fan of the chicken fingers, fries, & fruit cup too, lol. She did NOT like the flying fish ride or the nets, maybe next time. She LOVED Elmo and was all excited to see him, waving & saying hi repeatedly, until it was our turn for pictures of course. Then she cried and acted like we were visiting the Easter Bunny again!! She loved him again when we walked away, lol. We're going back at the end of the summer, so hopefully by then we'll be less paranoid about her ears and actually do all the fun water rides.

Family Vacay!

We took our first real family vacation over Memorial Day weekend to Williamsburg, VA for Matt & Farrah's wedding. We drove all day Thursday, spent Friday & Saturday super busy with wedding related events, and then got to just hang out for a couple days before we were back in the car on Tuesday. Danielle did great while we were away, her schedule was completely non-existent, but she really enjoyed herself the whole time. Of course I took a ton of pictures (300, lol), but I'll only post a few.

Year in Review

Obviously Danielle's changed a lot over the past year. So here's a quick slideshow to show how much she changed each month. We'll get a little more current after this!

Let's try this again

Clearly I'm not too good at keeping up with this stuff, lol. I started this blog almost a year ago, posted once, and forgot about it. But I figured I'd try again.

Danielle is no longer a 3 1/2 month old little lump. She's a 14 1/2 month old whirlwind of activity - a runner & a climber who thinks sitting still is pretty overrated. She's been known to throw a tantrum or two, but all in all she's a pretty sweet, happy, silly girl.

Introducing Danielle Paige

Danielle was born on March 20, 2007 @ 10:21 pm, weighing 6 lbs 7 oz & 18 inches long.

It's hard to believe that my little princess is already 3 1/2 months old. She's grown & changed so much in such a short amount of time.

She's the happiest little girl in the world 99% of the time (we're all cranky some times) & such a joy to be around. She's already got so much personality - she's nosy and stubborn, sweet and playful, small but strong. I honestly think she doesn't realize that she's so little and so young, because she's always trying to do something new & she's hit milestones that she's not supposed to be at for a couple more months. She's an amazing little person with a smile for pretty much everyone and if you let her she'll sit there and have quite the conversation with you. When she wants to be she's a little snuggle bunny, but she's also got an independent streak & she will let you know if you're annoying her, lol.
That's my little girl in one short paragraph. Clearly I could write so much more about her, but I'll share some pictures instead to catch you all up on the first 3 months.
